A notebook, or loose sheets of 8 ½”X11” paper.
DRAWING MATERIALS
Brushes…………………Loew Cornell White Nylon multi-purpose brush sets: # 656 or # 2046 or #2115 work well. Any round brushes (pointed) will work. Any old, frayed brushes work well for dry brush techniques.
Drafting Tape………To tape your paper to the board.
Drawing Board…….Prestwood or Masonite ¼” thick, 16”X18” or any convenient size.
Eraser…………….. Kneaded eraser. It is good for large areas and can be molded to a point.
Ink……………………….1oz bottle Higgins waterproof black India ink.
Paper……………….Use a fairly smooth paper that is responsive to the touch; avoid a rough textured paper as it hinders your stroke. Strathmore 300 or 400 Series Drawing
9” X12”or 11”X14” is a good general purpose paper for pencil or India ink. Heavier weight papers will not wrinkle as much, especially with ink wash.
Pen……………………….Bamboo pen.
Pencils……………. A #2 yellow writing pencil is adequate.
