Each class focuses on the fun experience that begins
with putting down washes, splashes, splatters and letting
watercolor speak through accident and improvisation.
All levels are welcome. Relaxation, abstraction and
experimentation are encouraged.

Supply List:
Paper
1 -2 sheets of heavy watercolor paper- Arches 140lb or 300lb is my preference. A small
block or pad of watercolor paper also works, as long as it is heavier weight.
Paint
Tubes or pans of paint. You can buy a set of basic colors which will work fine if you are
a beginner or want to save on costs. I use Windsor & Newton or Holbein; you can buy
another brand, just try to get Artist grade, rather than Student grade, unless you need to
save on costs. If buying tube paints, these are my recommended colors:
Alizarin Crimson
Carmine Red
Naples Yellow (Deep Yellow)
Olive Green
Cobalt Blue
Ultramarine Blue
Black-like colors can be mixed, and white is the paper.
If you already have other colors, bring them.
Brushes
Small round (optional)
Medium round
Large flat 1” and a 1.5” – 2 “ flat, cheap paint brush
Other supplies
Paper towels
Water bowl
2 Clips for fastening paper
Gator board or small backing board
Sponges (optional) for texture, etc.
We will not be stretching the paper.
