Supply List for Beginners

Brushes
I use a 1″ flat, 1/2 inch flat, #8 round, 2″ wash, and liner brush. Be sure that your brushes are made for watercolor. Don’t worry if you can’t get them all.

Paint

Bring just the primary colors, I suggest Permanent Rose, Cobalt Blue, Yellow, Q Gold and Burnt Sienna. Make sure you buy professional colors not cotman colors.
Cotman colors are student grade and do not have the right amount of pigment in them. Daniel Smith, Winsor Newton are some good name brands. All supplies can be purchased online at Dick Blicks or Jerry’s Art Store or any art supply store.

Paper

I use D’Arches paper 14-lb. I will have large sheets of paper for purchase. You can get many paintings our of one sheet. Price for a sheet is $10.00

Miscellaneous

Bring a light weight board to adhere the paper to. Bring a small spray bottle, two water containers, pencil, and eraser, palette can be a white paper plate, paper towels, don’t forget a sketch pad. I will share with you if you cannot find all the supplies.
