Description
Each class focuses on the fun experience that begins with putting down washes, splashes, splatters and letting watercolor speak through accident and improvisation. All levels are welcome. Relaxation, abstraction and experimentation are encouraged.
Supply List:
Quality watercolor paper 140lb. –small pad or 1 or 2 sheets (we will be cutting it up) Arches or Fabriano paper is good
Several tubes of your favorite colors-( professional, rather than student grade will bring better results.) Brands: Winsor & Newton, Holbein, Cheap Joes, etc
Palette or tray for mixing
Brushes—Large flat 1 inch and 1.5 inch – 2 inch flat, cheap paint brush; and medium round brush
Other supplies:
Paper towels
Water bowl
Sponges (optional) for texture, etc.
optional- Backing board
We will not be stretching the paper but will learn techniques to flatten. We will be working somewhat small, so stretching is not needed.
(You may bring reference pictures if you wish, but we will not be copying! Imagination rules.)
Note: Beginners will want to bring a minimum of red, yellow, green and blue, maybe black we will be mixing colors
