Description
Learn basic skills of metal fabrication used to create jewelry or small-scale metal objects. This class focuses on design and construction using hand tools. Students will be introduced to materials, tools and techniques of creating with metals by learning to saw, file, form, solder and finish. Procuring materials, tools and improvisational methods will also be discussed. Students will make a pendant with a bezel set cabochon stone in the first 6-week class session. The following 6-week class sessions’ projects will vary, so consider enrolling in multiple classes. A supply fee of $20 must be paid to the instructor on the first day of class (includes base materials for exercises). Students will procure their own project materials with instructor guidance. Magnification glasses recommended if needed.
