Description

How a painter can bring the sense of what we experience in nature to the canvas? The successful impact of a painting on the viewer will depend on the knowledge and awareness of the compositional structure, perspective and the placement. In this class, we will explore and develop these principals. We will also discuss use of brushwork, color selection, and value/tonal relationships. The instructor will tailor assistance around the individual projects/needs. Peer critique will provide a valuable feedback, and it’s usually the best and fun part of the class.

Supply List:

S/M size canvas, basic set of oil or acrylic paints, flat, round/filbert paintbrushes, linseed oil and turpentine, palette. Please bring a sketchbook, pencil and a sketch pad.
