Description
Day #1: We will paint “Winter scape” with sumi ink only. No leaves on trees, just branches in snowy weather. Trees have thrived under cold weather. Their roots are still strongly growing toward spring. This is very good exercise to paint any kind of tree in future. After painting trees, we will give a wash in background. We must wait for painting completely dry so that we can put some snow later.
Day #2: We will paint “Crane & Turtle” with Sumi ink.
They are the symbol of longevity in Japan. They say, “Crane live for a thousand and a tortoise lives ten thousand years.” This combination of subjects is often used to decorate variety of art facts for happy occasions. At the beginning of a new year, I may you live as long. If we have a time, we can also paint “Welcoming cat” with sumi ink and watercolors.
