804 Dying to Nuno Silk Wrap with Nancy Dorian

**This class may be split into two one-day sessions for those only interested in dyeing for nuno

Using Nuno felting techniques, you will be elated as you transform layers of hand-painted silks, sumptuous merino wool roving and other silk embellishments into gorgeous flowing fabric. During the felting process, the wool fibers migrate through the weave of the silk and entangle, pulling the silk and any other embellishments along with them as they shrink. This results in an incredibly llight-weight garment that drapes the body beautifully. On day one of this two0day workshop we will dye silk yardage using a microwave to heat-set the dye. Then move on to the nuno portion on day two which will cover design, layout, felting, fulling and finishing to create your own art-to-wear. Beginner and experienced felters are welcome.

Some supplies provided. Additional hand-painted silk yardage by Nancy Dorian will be available for sale.
