#202 Photoshop Essentials for Photographers

Learn the essential tools and techniques you need to edit your photos with Adobe Photoshop or Photoshop Elements. We'll cover selection tools, tonal adjustments like brightness/ contrast, levels and shadow/highlights, cropping, cloning, touch-up techniques, layers and workflow. We'll explore basic image manipulation with some of Photoshop’s/ Photoshop Element’s filters and functions, too. Bring your laptop loaded with either Adobe Photoshop (CS2 or later) or Adobe Photoshop Elements (6 or later). You can download free 30-day trial at www.adobe.com just before class begins.

#203 Digital Photography Exposed
Instructor: Spencer Pullen

This class will teach the fundamentals of photography such as ISO, aperture and shutter speed and how they work together to create an image. This class is half classroom instruction and half out in the field instruction. We will first start in the classroom to understand the techniques to get the best photos possible. The following week, we will choose a location and shoot different subjects. Anyone with a digital camera is welcome to attend, also bring your camera’s manual if you have one. #204 Elements for Digital Photography
Instructor: Spencer Pullen

The instructor will demonstrate the techniques that the pros use to edit their photos so they jump off the page. The instructor will show you “how” to do it, rather than explaining a bunch of theory. We will cover the organizer, Camera RAW, layers, masking, adjustment layers and tools. Students will also learn how to get their prints to match their screen. Students entering this class should have a working knowledge of a computer. Please see the syllabus for more detailed information. Optional 82 page workbook: $20.00 *Please bring a laptop with Elements 9 or 10 installed.
